THE BLACK BOYS

Ah the black boys! Think about teenage, rambunctious boys. These two rumble and tumble all day long. They love each other. They sleep together, eat together, snuggle together, play together (ALL THE TIME). If you have the sort of household that has the space for two big, boofy, cuddly and playful, please give us a call.

The boys were dumped as tiny kittens at Binalong tip. They were then caught, hand raised and are now ready for new homes. They are very sure of themselves!!!!!

Age: 8 months

Colour: Black

The boys are vaccinated, wormed and desexed

Adoption fee:  $150

CLAUDIA

Female DSH Cat

Claudia had trouble adapting to life with foster cats and was difficult to handle. But she has now been living with a number of other cats in an open run for some time and has blossomed with maturity. Her friend, Iggy [see seperate listing] has been a big influence on her and the two have come to rely on each other for support. They might be happier homed together, but it is not essential. Claudia can be very affectionate but still grumbles if she is unhappy with handling, and would not be suitable for a young family. She is fatter and healthier now than these photos suggest and shows all the signs of being desperate for a home of her own. If you like cats and are prepared for the long haul, then both these two are recommended.

Age: 18 months

Colour: Black and White

Claudia is desexed, vaccinated and wormed

Adoption fee:  Donation

IGGY

Male DSH Cat

Iggy was rescued from an empty building site next to a busy main road. Probably as a result of this experience, he has turned out to be a very affectionate animal. Like alot of ginger tabbies he does not like alot of handling but would probably change in a domestic situation. This does not mean that he is not a friendly, affectionate companion. He makes friends with other cats easily because of his non-threatening nature and could go to a new home with Claudia but it is not essential. Iggy would probably suit an older family or couple because he may take a while to settle.

Age: 1-2 years

Colour: Ginger

Iggy is desexed, vaccinated and wormed

Adoption fee:  Donation

TESS

Female DSH Cat

Tess was rescued [June 2011] with her kittens from the bush outside Canberra. She may either have been dumped pregnant, or mated with a feral. She very quickly showed enough signs of being a loving, friendly, talkative companion, for her to be offered for adoption at an early stage. She still has a bit of learning and adapting to do, but in the right hands and in a comfortable home with good food, she will probably take over the household. She learnt very fast how to accept gentle handling but is not recommended for young children at this stage. Single cat household preferred but she has not quarrelled with her present companion cats.
Tess may still have to learn gentle handling from her new owner [who should have some experience with cats], but she is now highly recommended. An affectionate, squeaky voiced 'toe dancer' and 'head butta', she is one of the best 'ferals' that I have rescued.
A real delight.

Age: 1-2 years

Colour: Tortoiseshell

Tess is desexed, vaccinated and wormed

JEZEBELLE

Female DSH Cat

Jezebelle lost her mother and sibling when she was rescued [as a kitten] from a life in Canberra drains. Despite this difficult start, she has blossomed into an affectionate maturity but with a very timid nature. Loves burrowing under the doona!
She has now lost her long time companion, Smokey, and may go back into her shell for a short time. A genuine cat lover could still achieve wonders with her.

Age: 2-3 years

Colour: Tabby

Jezebelle is desexed, vaccinated and wormed

Adoption fee:  Donation

SNOWY

Female DSH Cat

Snowy [mother of Patch] was rescued with him from the streets of Canberra and has not lived domestically for some years [she is in a run with 6 other cats]. She has taken some time to adapt and has had very little handling. She is now showing good signs of becoming a talkative, friendly animal but will need care and patience to reach her full potential. Definitely a challenge, but worth a try.

Age: 7-8 years

Colour: Tabby and White

Snowy is desexed, vaccinated and wormed

Adoption fee:  Donation

PATCH

Male DSH Cat

Patch has not lived in a domestic situation for most of his life. Rescued from the suburbs of Canberra [with Ricki], he has taken some time to adapt but is now showing the signs of being a strong, self reliant animal who, with some TLC and patience, will become quite affectionate. He shows no signs of aggression, but has not been handled much. Good with other cats. Best for new owners who understand cats because he may take time to settle.

Age: 3-4 years

Colour: Tabby and White

Patch is desexed, vaccinated and wormed

Adoption fee:  Donation

If you'd like to find out more about Patch, please contact: Chris on

RICKI

Male DSH Cat

Ricki was living on the streets in Canberra with Patch and other cats and has been the quickest to adapt. In certain situations [around food] he can be very friendly, talkative and affectionate. Big and 'boofy' best describes him. Will settle quite quickly, given the chance in a cat friendly household.

Age: approx 5-7 years

Colour: Black and White

Ricki is desexed, vaccinated and wormed

Adoption fee:  Donation

We are not disposable – please love us for life…

Would you like to help?

Ongoing items needed by foster carers include:

1.  Kitten food (wet and dry)

2.  Adult cat food (wet and dry)

3.  Kitty litter

4.  Wormers and flea treatments

Gift vouchers are a good way of ensuring foster carers get what they prefer to use so vouchers from Woolworths, Coles, Big W, Belco Pets (Oatley Court, Belconnen), Pet Stock and Petbarn etc are always welcomed.

Naturally monetary assistance to help pay vet bills is also very much appreciated.

Pre-loved (clean) items such as carry crates, cat towers and cat scratch posts, litter trays, cat beds, cat toys etc can always be put to good use by foster carers.  Even food that your cat might no longer choose to eat is appreciated.

And for those of you who also have doggie members in your family, we collect all sorts of pre-loved canine items and distribute these items to rescue groups, independent foster carers, Pounds and Shelters as well. We are busy people!

One last thing -- old towels and blankets are especially sought after by rescue groups!  We have a never ending demand for these 2 items…. Blankets mainly during winter naturally but old towels are needed all year round .

Thank you for caring…

Please contact Chris on 6231 6997 or Cathy on 6238 2089.
